If I could only eat 5 foods for the rest of my life they would be avocados, eggs, sweet potatoes, spinach and hummus. I know- you may be shocked that I didn’t include chocolate or ice cream- but I’ve always had more of a savory palette. I’d much rather have a giant omelette for breakfast than a stack of chocolate chip pancakes.
About 5 years ago, I really started to take a look at what was eating and decided to commit to eating healthy, clean foods. Eating healthy does not have to be a chore, there are tons of fun, creative and DELICIOUS recipes out there that you can feel good about eating. My passion for cooking healthy comes from being creative in the kitchen with ingredients that fuel my body (such as the five I mentioned above). I use cooking to express myself- often using the most colorful vegetables I can find to create meals that are both delicious and aesthetically pleasing.
To me, there’s nothing more exciting than being in a kitchen with a bunch of ingredients and endless possibilities of how to turn those ingredients into a dish. It’s just me, my kitchen and my imagination.A home-cooked meal is the cherry on top of a productive day and through this blog, I hope to inspire others to use cooking as an outlet of expression, rather than viewing it as just another task standing between them and the end of the day.
I am part of the millennial generation. We are constantly on-the-go, working to make our place in the world and more often than not, #hangry. I dedicate this blog to my fellow millennials, may you follow your dreams, pursue what makes you happy, and, most importantly, acquire enough basic cooking knowledge to avoid being hangry.
