Holy Guacamole!

final guac

Without a doubt, my dad makes the best homemade guacamole on the planet. You can try to tell me otherwise but once you try this guac I guarantee you will never go back to store bought or Chipotle’s (sorry Chipotle, I love you!) recipe again. Okay, so I’ve grown up with this guacamole recipe my whole life so maybe I’m a bit biased but every time I let a new friend try my dad’s guac, they LOVE it.

So here it is folks, the secret to my dad’s famous guacamole. Do what you will with it, I hope you enjoy it as I have for the past 22 years. This is the perfect appetizer, snack and topping for your favorite Mexican dish.

Gather your ingredients

Cut the avocados in half and scoop out the insides of the avocados with a spoon into a medium sized bowl. Add the garlic power or clove of grated garlic into the bowl along with the black pepper.

Shake in the Cholula hot sauce (or any hot sauce you have on hand). Feel free to add more or less hot sauce depending on your taste. Cut the lime and squeeze the juice into the bowl.

Add the grated red onion and pico de gallo or salsa. Grate in the lemon zest to top it off.
